The core scada engine is based on a hard real-time Operating system, QNX. For applications in harsh environments such as substations RealFlex including the HMI, can operate entirely under QNX.
For connectivity to other enterprise applications, RealFlex 6 connects with the Microsoft environment using dynamic encrypted messaging. FlexWin is a suite of software applications running in the Windows environment.
